Lecture – Bernardo de Gálvez and the Spanish Involvement in the American Revolution

Gonzalo M. Quintero Saravia, historian, examines the life of Bernardo de Gálvaz, the governor of Spanish Louisiana and commander of the Spanish forces along the Gulf Coast during the Revolutionary War. Gálvez not only aided American troops, but conquered British West Florida, which led Britain to cede land to the United States after the war. The event will be held on Wednesday, September 30 at 6:00 pm at Anderson House, 2118 Massachusetts Ave., NW, Washington. Free admission, no reservations required.
