“Join us for a cross-disciplinary conversation with author Jill Rose. She will discuss her book Nursing Churchill with panelists Dr. Pamela Jeffries, Dean, School of Nursing; Peggy Norton-Rosko, Chief Nursing Officer, GW Hospital; and Dr. Carol Lang, Assistant Professor and Director of Community and Global Initiatives, School of Nursing. This discussion will be moderated by Gail Rosseau, M.D. of the Department of Neurological Surgery.

Based on the letters of Doris Miles during her time nursing Churchill at the height of World War II, Nursing Churchill provides a unique window into the lives of the “angels” of wartime Britain. Panelists will discuss the book and the stark contrast it provides to the nursing profession of today.

This event is free and open to the public. A reception and book signing will follow the discussion in Gelman Library, room 702.”
