“The Last Mission: The Legacy of a Lost World War II Bomber Crew”

December 17, 2015 @ 4:00 am - 5:00 pm

Journalist and author Gregg Jones reconstructs the lives and times of ten airmen aboard U.S. Army Air Forces B-24 Liberator 41-23711, Jerk’s Natural, which disappeared over Austria on October 1, 1943. Jones traces the lives of the fallen servicemen, situates them within a larger story of air combat deaths in Europe in the summer and fall of 1943, and tells of his own personal journeys to the village in southern Austria where the men disappeared.

In conversation with Jason Steinhauer of the Kluge Center.
