The next meeting of the DC-Area African American Studies Works-In-Progress Seminar will be on Saturday, 25 Oct 2014 from 2-5 pm. Location: University of Maryland – College Park, Taliaferro Hall, Room 2108.
The DC-Area African American Studies Works-In-Progress Seminar is open to any scholar with a focus on historically-oriented scholarship relating to the experience of peoples of African descent in the diaspora or in Africa. Graduate students are especially welcome. The seminar meets two or three times per semester. During each meeting, the seminar critiques two pre-circulated papers, around 25-40 pp. in length. Scholars who are interested in attending or presenting a paper at a future seminar should email Jay Driskell at firstname.lastname@example.org.
